MeSH Description
Cells in the body that store FATS, usually in the form of TRIGLYCERIDES. WHITE ADIPOCYTES are the predominant type and found mostly in the abdominal cavity and subcutaneous tissue. BROWN ADIPOCYTES are thermogenic cells that can be found in newborns of some species and hibernating mammals.

library_construction_protocol
We performed the ATAC-seq protocol in the untreated primary human adipocytes (Ad) in 300,000 nuclei in three biological replicates similarly as in [Buenrostro et al. 2013 Nat Methods] except we used 0.03-0.1% Tween-20 in place of NP40 for the lysis buffer. After washing adherent cells with ice-cold PBS, we lysed the cells directly in the culture plate and performed transposition and DNA purification. Tagmented DNA samples were prepared for high-throughput sequencing as described in [Buenrostro et al. 2013 Nat Methods]
