Cells were fixed with 1% formaldehyde for 10 minutes. After quenching and cell lysis, chromatin was sonicated using a E220 focused-ultrasonicator (Covaris). ChIP-seq libraries were prepared using the NEBNext Ultra DNA Library Prep Kit for Illumina (New England Biolabs, Ipswich, MA, USA). The library quantifications were assessed on the Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100 system. The library preparations were sequenced on an Illumina Hiseq platform and 50 bp single-end reads or 150 bp paired-end reads were generated.
