A nodular organ in the ABDOMEN that contains a mixture of ENDOCRINE GLANDS and EXOCRINE GLANDS. The small endocrine portion consists of the ISLETS OF LANGERHANS secreting a number of hormones into the blood stream. The large exocrine portion (EXOCRINE PANCREAS) is a compound acinar gland that secretes several digestive enzymes into the pancreatic ductal system that empties into the DUODENUM.

Chromatin samples were prepared using pancreatic tissue obtained from 2-4 months old mice injected with cerulein. Chromatin Immunoprecipitation was carried out using Anti-ATF3 (sc-188; Santa Cruz). After reverse cross-linking and treatment with Proteinase K, the samples were treated with Phenol Chloroform twice. The DNA was Ethanol precipitated, washed with 70% Ethanol. Samples were eluted and pooled in 40ul of H2O. This eluted DNA was sent for sequencing. Library was constructed by the Beijing Genomics Institute (Hong Kong), following their established protocol (http://www.genomics.cn/en/).
