The cells were fixed using 1% formaldehyde. Upon cell cysis, the chromatin was sheared by sonication and SmcHD1 bound chromatin was isolated using anti-SmcHD1 antiserum. The DNA libraries were prepared according the Illumina's suggested protocol.
